The follow up
Having
sent your resume with your cover letter, make a list
of the date and person you it to. After a week
try calling the recruiter to enquire if they have
received your resume and whether you could arrange
a mutually suitable time to discuss. Its important
to make a good impression by being confident on
the phone, as this will be picked up by the interviewer.
Be enthusiastic as well as professional.
You
may be able to secure an interview by saying that
you are going to be in the area. You could ask
if you can see the department and try to sell
yourself through your interest. Most of all, employers
tend to admire initiative. You could go on to
discuss about other job opportunities that meet
your interest and skills.
Hurrah
! You have an entry and a chance to get the job.
That's half the task completed.
