This well renowned manufacturing company is looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to assist the already successful team in coping with an ever increasing business demand.

The role

1) Design of assemblies and systems, including production of detail drawings, BOM?s and assembly drawings
2) Liaison with suppliers (internal and external) to ensure components are cost-effectively manufactured to meet design requirements
3) Work concurrently with Manufacturing Engineers to ensure Design for Manufacture
4) Responsibility for all mechanical facets of the project from initial concepts through to production/completion

Candidate skills / qualifications

1) Previously worked within a mechanical design role preferably within a precision/machine tool industry and will have experience of using 3D CAD software, preferably AutoCad Inventor (but training for AutoCad will be provided for the right candidate)
2) A self motivated individual you will have the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary project team, which oversees projects from start to finish
3) You will have a good knowledge of manufacturing methods
4) You will have the ability to negotiate, influence, and communicate effectively, with customers, vendors, and internal personnel at all levels
5) You will be able to carry out supporting calculations relating to designs
