Systems Electronics, Software Engineer - Cheshire

The company

Our client is involved in the manufacture and supply of state-of-the-art scientific research systems including PVD, CVD and etch tools, to academic and industrial customers.

They are looking to appoint a Systems Electronics/Software Engineer to add talent to their existing team.

The Role

The role will involve high-level systems build, testing at both sub-assembly and system level, factory sign-off procedures and travel to customer locations to conduct installation and user training.

For some systems, semi-custom elements of the build will require the development and implementation of technical solutions and coordination with scientific staff.

Duties include:

Design and construction of electrical/electronic sub-assemblies and systems integration
Development and maintenance of systems software for hardware operation and user interface
Rigorous testing and record-keeping for all work completed
Ensuring work is completed to stringent quality standards
Working with MRP packages for stock management
Interfacing with design and applications team; suggesting improvements, keeping records for traceability purposes.


The ideal candidate should have electrical engineering qualifications relevant to the construction of state-of-the-art research systems.

Possess a good understanding of both electrical engineering and software for hardware operation
Must possess the capability to progress quickly within an SME with a unique product range
Relevant work experience within the field is a definite advantage
