Senior Process Engineer - Electrochemical Deposition (ECD) - Newport

£Competitive Salary + Bonus + 33 Days Holiday + Pension

Purpose of Role

Working as part of our ECD (Electrochemical Deposition) team, the primary responsibilities of this role will be to develop processes for bump electroplating.

This will involve generating new hardware concepts, liaising with external project partners, carrying out hands-on process development and hardware testing.

Additional responsibilities will include writing technical reports for both internal and external use, extracting technical guidance from chemical suppliers, running customer demonstrations and trouble-shooting hardware.
The successful applicant will be joining a project which could herald a completely new product type for the company.

Success would trigger the formation of a whole new department hence there is potential for rapid career progression.

This position will involve a minimal amount of international travel.

Role Responsibilities

? Process Demonstrations.
o Demonstrate ECD processes to meet the agreed customer specifications
o Assess results using analytical equipment and appropriate software packages
o Undertake problem solving and trouble-shooting
o Provide the product marketing department with regular updates on the progress of sample/demonstration work
o Develop good relationships with customers
o Summarise results in a written report or presentation

? Process Development
o Develop ECD processes on equipment to meet industry standards
o Varying the process parameters to optimise results
o Establish best methods for tool process operation
o Run marathon tests for new processes and equipment
o Contribute constructively to the work of engineering team for new hardware.
o Summarise results in a written report or presentation
o Write technical reports for patent applications
o Write technical papers for publication at conferences, seminars etc
