Warehouse Manager - Loughton

A client of mine are looking for an experienced warehouse manager to come in and hit the ground running.

The position will be in Loughton,Essex

Job purpose:
Responsible for managing the warehouse, warehouse team and general hire/conference preps on a day to day basis.

Key responsibilities and accountability:

1. To manage and be responsible for all general hire/conference preps to ensure that the correct kit is loaded onto the correct vehicle by the time specified
2. To ensure that all kit is tested when necessary and maintained to the highest level possible
3. To ensure that all electrical kit is PAT tested and within date when it goes out on hire
4. Maintaining constant communication with the Hire Manager, General Manager and Managing Director
5. To supervise the warehouse team and be responsible for ensuring that the warehouse team are working effectively on a day to day basis, notifying the General Manager if anyone is under performing, needs training or is in breach of any health and safety requirement
6. Be the first port of call for any kit enquiries from office staff
7. Be responsible for reporting any queries of an operational nature to the General Manager
8. To be responsible for allocating and monitoring when the warehouse staff take their designated lunch break
9. To liaise with the Hire Manager & General Manager to maintain a safe working premises
10. Responsible for ensuring broadcast preps and deliveries are completed on time, completing the ‘second check' of the broadcast hire and liaising with the Company Secretary to ensure smooth running of the broadcast department
11. To ensure all kit coming off vans is checked back correctly against a delivery note or formal list or is quarantined whilst investigations are made
12. Responsible for completing a ‘warehouse walk around' and ensuring all required work is completed to a satisfactory level before releasing staff to go home every day
13. Enforce safe operating procedures to include health and safety assessments
14. To manage projects within the warehouse/workshop and ensure they are happening safely and within the specified time frame
15. Work alongside Hire Manager & General Manager to undertake periodic performance review and associated tasks for warehouse team
16. Define & oversee first line repairs, ensuring that repairs and paperwork are dealt with by close of play the day after the faulty equipment is returned
17. To ensure all faulty hire equipment in the workshop is repaired as soon as possible by liaising with the General Manager or Sales & Installation Director where necessary, and ensuring all green tagged repairs are returned into hire stock on the day of repair
18. To ensure that no equipment reported as faulty but with no fault found is returned to hire stock without the express permission of the Managing Director
19. Responsible for the issue of new equipment into hire stock within specified timeframe
20. Ensure a weekend handover is completed each Friday afternoon in conjunction with the General Manager or Managing Director
21. Ensure an annual leave handover is completed on the afternoon of the last working day prior to leaving
22. To co-ordinate with the Hire Manager so that lunch breaks/annual leave arrangements/medical appointments are not taken at the same time as the Hire Manager
23. To co-ordinate with the Hire Manager so that warehouse staff working late are supervised by either the Warehouse Manager or Hire Manager
24. To maintain unit security at all times
25. To ensure a check is undertaken on each company vehicle each week, reporting any concerns or faults to the General Manager immediately, and filing a report

A good all round IT knowledge
You must have a full clean drivers licence

Desirable Skills :
Previous experience in the AV, sound & Light industry
Fork lift, IPAF, first aid training and any other relevant health and safety training or certificates

Salary is negotiable on experience
