Technical Services Manager - ITIL v3 / v4

Technical Services Manager - ITIL v3/v4 - Godalming, Surrey - Can you provide operational and technical management to Managed Services and hosted customers? Can you provide a point of contact for any escalated technical requirements or queries relating to the services delivered from managed cloud platform? Can you define, manage, control, support and develop the Service Operations function, and to run the platform in our co-locations at maximum efficiency and availability? Can you support 3-5 Direct reports + a Service Operations Team? Key skills and experience:




  • Experience in technical consultancy/management role, ideally in a client-facing commercial organisation


  • Responsible for mentoring, development, training, review and performance management of the IT Operations Team Leader, Service Continuity Team Leader and the Tech Team as well as Point of Escalation


  • Supervisory experience / Demonstrable escalation management and issue resolution experience


  • Service Desk systems experience


  • Experience of technical environments; Data centre hosting, virtualisation (server, network.

    storage and desktop) and Cloud


  • Supplier management experience; networking, authentication, storage, security and monitoring vendors.


  • Strong familiarity with virtualized environments (Azure, AWS, VMware, Hyper-V) and the technical issues that are specific to them


  • Identify skills gaps within Service Operations and plan the necessary training to provide the required services, define and obtain approval for training and development where


  • Support Pre Sales in technical activities including tender responses relating to the managed cloud platform


  • Be an authority for triggering Disaster Recovery and Managed Services Disaster Recovery


  • Manage Datacentre colocations and the account relationship


  • Manage the Escalation Rota for management team, including distribution of key documents to assist in the team's effectiveness.


  • Security best practice awareness and investigation (ISO quality standards) / Manage and attend key vendor meetings for compliance in ISO27001

  • ITIL v3/v4 qualification or/with equivalent level of experience


For this IT Technical Services Manager / Technical Support Manager opportunity, you will provide hands-on technical consultancy with my client and their managed service customers, you will also aim to assist with defining and planning technical strategy, standards and our future services roadmap.
