SEN Therapeutic Teacher/ EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage)

Special Needs ASD Teacher/EYFS - Mitcham, South London,

Salary: £30,480 to £49,571 + SEN Allowance

The Company

Our client based in Mitcham, South London, is a specialist institute offering a highly specialised therapeutic provision for up to 36 pupils aged 5-16 years who have an Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and additional social, emotional and mental health needs, moderate learning difficulties, mental ill-health, PDA and ADHD.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a Class Teacher who has experience and sound knowledge of the EYFS and child development.

The Class Teacher will be responsible for teaching students with Autism and either moderate or severe learning difficulties, leading a team of support staff and working as a member of a multi- disciplinary team.

You will be required to carry out the professional duties of a teacher under the direction of the Leadership Team.

Role Responsibilities:

? Planning and delivering high quality lessons that match the specific learning needs of pupils
? Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress and attainment of pupils including by way of oral and written assessments, reports and references
? Liaising with staff on the preparation and development of courses of study, teaching materials and programmes, teaching and assessment methods and pastoral arrangement
? Ensuring individual pupils make good progress in all areas of the whole curriculum
? Being responsible for curriculum areas as agreed.
? Maintaining supervision, good order and wellbeing amongst pupils
? Providing guidance and advice to pupils and making relevant records and reports
? Building and maintaining good links with parents
? Developing teaching approaches in the light of pupil need and staff training
? Attending staff meetings/taking an active role in school improvement issues

Essential Skills & Requirements:

? Honours degree
? 3 years experience teaching children with complex
