Procurement Lead Officer

Job Title: Procurement Lead Officer
Salary range:£38,129 - £42,919 per annum + excellent benefits
Hours: 36.5 per week
Contract type: Permanent

Who we need


We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Lead Officer supporting Productivity and Skills/ Housing and Regeneration / Energy Directorates and are looking for a professional and proactive individual to delivery best practice procurement support and expertise.



About the role


This exciting opportunity will be based within dynamic and supportive teams.

You will be a Procurement Lead Officer delivering specialist procurement support aiding in the delivery of business priorities and reflecting procurement legislation and best practice procedures.


This is an excellent opportunity to build upon existing procurement experience and knowledge in the context of an energetic public sector environment.

Essential Attributes


We are looking for a pro-active and strategic thinking individual.

Purchasing experience is essential; demonstrating the ability to develop procurement strategies, lead on engaging and evaluating tender responses, undertake bid conditioning and bid clarification, debrief suppliers, award contracts, manage supplier relationships, supplier performance and undertake supplier and contract management activities.



Knowledge/experience of working with EU Public Procurement Regulations is essential.

Our services range from setting strategic direction for collaborative and efficient supply chain management to specification development and contract award.


Skills and Productivity

Housing and Regeneration

Housing and land use are a key WMCA priority.

Our Investment Prospectus sets out up to £10bn in schemes that emphasize the West Midlands as the UK's new growth capital.

We have also agreed a £350m Housing Deal with the government.


Energy


The WMCA has set out ambitious plans to retrofit 50,000 homes across the West Midlands by the end of 2022 to help tackle fuel poverty.

Retrofitting forms part of the WMCA's #WM2041 programme, which sets out how the West Midlands aims to become carbon neutral no later than 2041.
