Physical Health Nurse

An amazing new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Physical Health Nurse to work in an exceptional service based in the Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire area.

As a Nurse you will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers

This is a neurobehavioral locked rehabilitation hospital for patients with acquired brain injury and neuro progressive conditions patient displaying co-existing neuropsychiatric conditions and challenging behaviour

As the Physical Health Nurse your key responsibilities include:

  • Provide support to the Nursing and wider MDTs in ensuring the patients in the defined area have their physical healthcare nursing needs identified, care planned and evaluated in accordance with best practice and clinical evidence

  • Providing advice and support to colleagues at the site regarding physical healthcare needs in general terms; this includes Infection control, screening programmes and site specific requirements, depending on the clinical speciality

  • Be the site lead for Infection Prevention and control and for student nurses and apprenticeship nurses

  • Ensure that all patients are receiving physical healthcare assessments on admission, and that their care needs are commensurate with the assessment and consistent with pre-existing care plans; This includes obtaining relevant historical information, test results etc.

    in partnership with medical colleagues

  • Undertake Quality Walk Around; collate data and action plan for Clinical Governance

The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:

  • Previous experience gained within a relevant healthcare environment

  • Able to show a can-do attitude always

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Able to work under pressure and prioritize workload

  • A proven ability to co-ordinate care, prioritise tasks and manage Health & Safety issues

The successful Physical Health Nurse will receive an excellent salary up to £32,000 per annum DOE.
