Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

An exciting new job opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to work in an exceptional Neuropsychiatric service based in the Darlington, County Durham area.

This is a Neuropsychiatric service offering care and treatment to those affected by acquired brain injuries

*To be considered for this position you must be a registered Speech and Language Therapist with the HCPC registration

As the Specialist Speech & Language Therapist your key responsibilities include:

·         Work to assess their speech, communication and language needs (SCLN) in all environments

·         As part of a multi-disciplinary team on-site, you will work with all staff across the hospital to support the implementation of the therapeutic and neuropsychiatric approach demonstrating an interest in up skilling the workforce

·         Work closely with the Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

·         You will be part of a company-wide SLT service and contribute to the service development initiatives

The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:

·         Experience in the field of ABI/neurodegenerative conditions

·         An understanding of SLT process/interventions and can take a “hands on” approach

·         Excellent communication and time management skills

·         Passionate about student education

·         Dysphagia competencies (desirable) or an interest in developing skills in this area of practice

The successful Specialist Speech & Language Therapist will receive an excellent salary up to £32,773 per annum DOE.

This exciting position is a permanent full time role working 40 hours a week.
